Filho de raizeiro e curandeira nordestinos, Jorge t\u00eam a mata como refugio desde pequeno onde aprendeu apreciar o sil\u00eancio e mergulhar com a alma em todo pequeno ecossistema. Tamb\u00e9m conhecido como Forager por suas habilidades de explorar e coletar a natureza selvagem, herdou da fam\u00edlia o amor e o cuidado pela terra e aprendeu desde cedo a viver em comunh\u00e3o com a floresta. Seu esp\u00edrito observador e sua curiosidade o levaram a estudar e pesquisar, de forma autodidata, sobre a biodiversidade na Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, principalmente, plantas e cogumelos com potencial gastron\u00f4mico e medicinal.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

De vida aut\u00f4noma h\u00e1 mais de 15 anos, \u00e9 consultor ambiental, gastron\u00f4mico, farmac\u00eautico e cosmet\u00f3logo. Envolvido com pesquisadores como Nelson Menolli Jr. e Mariana Drewinski, ONGs e projetos ambientas, estrutura invent\u00e1rios florestais e flor\u00edsticos mapeando a biodiversidade local, projeta e implementa sistemas agroflorestais com objetivo de enriquecer o solo e valorizar a rela\u00e7\u00e3o homem-natureza. Dedica-se tamb\u00e9m \u00e0 propaga\u00e7\u00e3o de ingredientes brasileiros e ao resgate cultural gastron\u00f4mico, construindo a sua hist\u00f3ria ao lado de Chefs como Ana Bueno, Bel Coelho, Henrique Gilberto e L\u00e9o Botto.<\/p>

Fez interc\u00e2mbio na Inglaterra, na empresa\u00a0Forager Ltd.<\/a>, especializada em coleta e comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de plantas selvagens e j\u00e1 palestrou em eventos como FRU.TO, Viva a Mata da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Mata Atl\u00e2ntica e Sess\u00e3o C5 do Centro de Cultura Culin\u00e1ria C\u00e2mara Cascudo ao lado de grandes refer\u00eancias como o pesquisador e especialista em fungos, Marcelo Sulzbacher, da pesquisadora Mariana Capelari e do chef Alex Atala, onde explanou sobre a biodiversidade aliment\u00edcia da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica e seu potencial gastron\u00f4mico.<\/p>

Como polinizador destes conhecimentos, ministra oficinas, cursos e viv\u00eancias<\/a> sobre educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, cogumelos, plantas aliment\u00edcias n\u00e3o convencionais (PANCs) e sistemas agroflorestais para adultos e crian\u00e7as al\u00e9m de promover expedi\u00e7\u00f5es individuais e em grupos pela Mata Atl\u00e2ntica.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A minha vida inteira foi acordar e, pela luz do dia, entender o que deveria fazer: se faz sol, vou capinar; se chove, vou limpar o bananal; se estou sem coragem, vou andar na mata e observar p\u00e1ssaros. I'm Jorge Alves da Silva Ferreira, son of northeasterners.<\/p>

Meu pai, Jos\u00e9 Ferreira, e minha m\u00e3e, Carmelita, s\u00e3o nascidos e criados em Pernambuco, filhos de agricultores, e h\u00e1 30 anos migraram para o Rio de Janeiro, Cabo Frio, onde eu nasci.<\/p>

Depois de uma tentativa de retorno para o nordeste, decidiram voltar para o RJ, s\u00f3 que dessa vez para Paraty… Lugar que meu pai j\u00e1 conhecia, pois ia para passear e era apaixonado por l\u00e1.<\/p>

Nessa volta, minha fam\u00edlia se instalou no S\u00edtio S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9, propriedade que meu pai comprou pois sempre teve o sonho de criar os filhos dentro desse universo da produ\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos. Eu tinha 5 anos de idade e meus dois irm\u00e3os eram mais novos.<\/p>

Nossa casa ficava a quase 3 km de dist\u00e2ncia da parte urbana e era preciso andar numa trilha dentro da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica. Por estar distante, n\u00e3o fui \u00e0 escola, sendo alfabetizado pela minha m\u00e3e. Acompanhava meu pai no dia a dia das suas atividades, plantando banana, inhame, milho, e acompanhei todo o processo da agricultura de base familiar.<\/p>

Fui criado comendo tapioca, biju, farinha\u2026 Tudo produzido ali mesmo e por n\u00f3s.\u00a0<\/p>

It was after a financial crisis, mainly related to the difficulty of selling products, that my father had contact with a different type of agriculture, agroforestry. We went from producing focused on commerce to choosing what and how to cultivate, in a more harmonious way with the forest and with greater self-sufficiency.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It was at this time that my gaze at nature sharpened even more and I created a new relationship with my surroundings. I started looking for species in the forest that were interesting for our food and without knowing I was entering the universe of experience<\/a>, to collect in nature. I learned in practice about wild and medicinal plants \u2013 in fact, food and medicine are often the same thing. As I was already interested in botany (at that time I didn't even know it was called that!), I dedicated myself to studying all the plants I could and specialized in it.<\/p>

The combination of an agroforestry system, collecting food in the forest and the medicinal use of plants was consolidating in me a vision of the world. I perceived the human being as an integral part of nature and felt the need to create another relationship with our surroundings, with more connection, respect and synergy. I saw that we can be and benefit from the forest in a sustainable way.\u00a0<\/p>

Whatever biome I'm in, I look around and see so many possibilities in biodiversity. I see food, I see healing, I see flavors, I see pigments, I see odors... And that's what we know only a small part of all the potential that there is in the forest! All this fascinates and motivates me a lot.\u00a0<\/p>

I always seek to be present in every moment, bringing attention, intention and intensity to my actions. Experience and share flavors, aromas, sensations and knowledge. In this passionate universe, I found myself and I found, not just a profession, but a way of living life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
